A work dinner brought me to the oldest Italian...

A work dinner brought me to the oldest Italian resto in Brussels. Originally dinner was planned for 7pm but they begged us not to arrive until 7.30... and now I see why. Run by Italians, expect Italian style service, slow, no smiles and bordering non existent except when the food was ready. The menu I saw outside, offers a 3 course surprise meal for €30 or 5 courses for €60, starters and mains are pricey. An amuse bouche of parma ham and artichoke was washed down with some good spumante, follwed by fantastic St. JAcques in a divine safraan sauce, followed by a steak (not my thing...) and a plate of desserts, 2 pastries, a tirimasiu and strawberries). The wine was interesting but slow in coming. The food was without a doubt fantastic, top quality ingredients and a lovely restaurant. But more family and friends came that evening that customers, so obviously a real locals haunt. One to try on the company credit card ;)
